Community Medicine

The department of Community Medicine is committed towards improving quality of training in theory and practice of community medicine through a transparent, interdisciplinary and network-friendly approach. Partnering with service delivery institutions of primary health care and voluntary organizations, the department aims at clarity and order in formulating public policy and health restoration within families and communities. It is a regular and active proponent of Pulse Polio Immunisation and health camps in schools and colleges, while encouraging students at Narayana to take a critically positive view of community medicine and its necessity. Field visits gain traction in particular where population-based epidemiological studies are carried out and reviewed in journal clubs and seminars. The department takes its standpoint of public good in healthcare across all other departments at NDCH, making it an important sensibility to internalize.
