Fortune Magazine has honoured Mr. Puneet Kothapa, the President of The Narayana Group, by including him in their prestigious 40 Under 40 list, marking a significant achievement. The annual list recognises the nation's young and outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions and achieved remarkable success in their respective fields. Other imminent personalities who made it to the list are Akash Ambani, Nikhil Kamath, and Karan Adani, among others.

A Brief Profile of Mr. Puneet Kothapa, The Strategist at the Narayana Group

Puneet Kothapa is a chartered accountant by profession. He joined the Narayana Group in 2012 after working for five years with Ernst & Young. Here, he is responsible for leading group strategy, overseeing business expansion, implementing new initiatives, and managing digital technology, finance, general administration, and supply chain operations.

Though only 35 years old, he successfully manages multiple roles through meticulous planning and decisive leadership. The Narayana Group was set up to meet the aspirations of middle-class parents, says Puneet.

Founded over 4 decades ago in undivided Andhra Pradesh, the Narayana Group witnessed rapid expansion after Puneet joined the firm. At present, the Narayana Group operates in 60 districts, 21 states, and 2 union territories, boasting 354 schools, 241 junior colleges, and 51 coaching centres. The vision is to set up a school in at least 500 districts, says Puneet.

Across the country, every Narayana classroom adheres to a standardised microschedule, delivering the same content simultaneously. It is noteworthy that for every 10 schools, there are typically three zonal coordinators overseeing the operations.

A centralised R&D team of 600 academicians plans lessons down to chapters and pages and sends them to every teacher's inbox every quarter in advance, says Puneet.

Puneet ensures that the group's vision and mission are achieved across 640+ institutions, positively impacting the lives of more than 6,00,000 students with the help of a strong central team of more than 2300 employees across various functions such as academic R&D, operations, finance, marketing, technology, and HR.

With operations in more than 21 states, the Narayana Group is now one of Asia's largest and fastest-growing educational conglomerates.
